Freelance Writer at Tonic in Palo Alto, CA

Title: Freelance Writer, Tonic Profiles

Reports to: Contributing Editor, Tonic Profiles

Summary
Tonic is seeking Freelance Writers for Tonic Profiles to help guide Tonic into becoming the world’s leading destination for effortless social activism. Tonic is a media company focused on aggregating and producing content about the good things that happen around the world each day. Our content is current, entertaining, inspiring and filled with hope. The site is supported by projects we do with personalities, with some percentage of revenue from these projects donated to a charity.

Description
We are seeking talented and experienced Freelance Writers to help grow our business and a new section of our site, Tonic Profiles. Profiles will serve as a go to destination for the latest news about specific personalities, companies and causes. You’ll report to Tonic’s Contributing Editor, Tonic Profiles, but you’ll work independently and can work anywhere. This position is ideal for someone with some writing and/or editorial experience but wants a chance to spread their wings and grow with a fast-moving company.

Responsibilities:
We want a crop of regular contributors for our departmental features and other content categories across the site. We want writers and journalists with professional experience who come with links and/or clips to prove it. Professional blogging experience is OK, too. We want writers who come loaded with great ideas, and also those who can take ideas and run with them.

We will pay for your work. We currently offer a flat rate for submissions and seek a minimum of 15 profiles per week.

Tonic’s editorial mission is simple - to be the curators of all-things good. Nobody covers the world of doing good like Tonic. Call us a “good news” website if you will – we’re proud to wear that label.

To apply, tell us a story about a good thing you’ve seen, or a good thing you’ve done recently. Have fun with it – it doesn’t need to be long. Oh, and please send a resume along with 3-5 links and examples of your best work. We look forward to hearing from you.

This is a freelance opportunity.
